Below are answers to frequently asked questions about the Where have you Flexed? contest. Please view the Official Rules for complete contest details.

Contest & Entries

1.How do I enter the contest?

To participate in the contest, you must first register on this web site. You will be required to provide general information about yourself, including how long you’ve been using FlexPen®. Once your registration is complete, you may move on to the photo submission phase.

2.What are eligibility requirements for entry?

The Where have you Flexed? photo contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, who are 18 years of age or older, and are people with diabetes who currently use the Novo Nordisk FlexPen®.

3.By what date must I submit my photo?

The photo submission phase closes at 11:59 pm ET on June 2, 2008. Please submit your entry on or before this date.

4.What criteria must my photo meet?

Photos submitted must capture the most interesting, unusual or exciting place that you have used the closed (or capped) Novo Nordisk FlexPen®. You, the entrant, must be the only individual featured in the photo, and you must have your FlexPen® clearly and prominently displayed. Your FlexPen® must be capped and not in use.

5.Can I submit more than one photo?

Only one photo entry is allowed per participant.

6.What are the criteria for uploading photos?

Photos must be no larger than 5 MB and must be in one of the following formats: gif, jpeg, jpg, bmp, png, tif, or tiff. When you upload your photo, you will be required to provide a brief caption, in 100 characters, or less, describing the photo. This caption will be used for judging purposes only, and will not be displayed for public viewing at any time.

7.Can I mail in my entry?

Photos must be uploaded on this site in order to be entered into the contest. Entries submitted by any other means will be deemed ineligible for contest entry.

8.My photo was taken outside of the U.S. Is it still eligible?

Absolutely.

9.I submitted the wrong photo. How do I cancel my submission and upload the correct photo?

If you’ve made an error in submitting your photo, please call us at 1-800-727-6500. We will cancel your submission and instruct you as to how to go about resubmitting your photo.

10.I have submitted a photo but no longer wish to participate in the contest. How do I cancel my registration and photo submission?

While we’ll be sorry to see you go, you may completely withdraw from the contest at any time by calling us at 1-800-727-6500.

11.I’m under 18 years old. Can I participate if my parents provide proof of consent?

Sorry. Contest participation is open only to individuals 18 years of age or older.

12.I do not use a FlexPen®, and/or I do not have diabetes. Can I still participate in the contest?

The photo contest is open only to people with diabetes who currently use the Novo Nordisk FlexPen®. However, voting for the winning photos will be open to the general public and includes optional inclusion into a voters’ random drawing.

Judging & Voting

1.How will photos be judged?

All eligible entries will be judged by a panel of experts chosen by Novo Nordisk. 30 finalists will be determined based on the following: How interesting, unusual or exciting the place is where the photograph was taken (20%); Originality of photo/caption (20%); Flexibility of photo/caption (20%); Unique manner in which the subject matter was pictured (20%); and Quality of picture (20%).

2.When will finalists be available for viewing?

The 30 finalists will be posted on this web site on July 7, 2008.

3.How will the winning photos be chosen?

Of the 30 finalists, one (1) grand prize, five (5) first prize, and ten (10) second prize winners will be determined by votes from visitors to this site.

4.How do I vote?

The 30 finalists will be posted on this site, and you will be prompted to vote for your favorite one. To vote for a photo, you will first be asked to sign in using your name, e-mail address, and birth date for verification purposes.

5.Am I eligible to vote?

Voting is open to the public, to all legal U.S. residents, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, who are 18 years of age or older.

6.When can I vote?

Voting will begin when the finalists are posted, on July 7, 2008. The voting phase will conclude on August 5, 2008.

7.How many times can I vote?

You may vote only once and for only one entry.

8.I’m a finalist. Can I vote for my own entry?

Sure! If you’re photo is among the 30 finalists, you may vote for your own entry.

Prizes & Winner Announcement

1.When will the final winners be announced?

Once all votes are counted and winners are determined, winning photos will be posted on this site on or around September 29, 2008. All registered participants and voters will receive an e-mail announcement when the winning photos are posted.

2.When will the winners of the voters’ random drawing be chosen? How will I be notified if I’ve won?

The five (5) winners of the voters’ random drawing will be chosen on or about August 19, 2008 and will be notified by phone, mail, and/or e-mail.

3.Where can I find a description of the prizes?

Prize descriptions are available on this site’s homepage. Click here to go to the homepage. Full prize descriptions are outlined in more detail in the Official Rules.

4.Can I win both the photo contest and the voters’ random drawing?

No, there is a limit of one prize per person/address/email address.

5.If I win the contest or the voters’ random drawing, when can I expect to receive my prize?

You will be notified by phone, mail, and/or e-mail if you’ve won a prize. Prize delivery will be arranged at this time.

6.Can I transfer my prize?

Sorry, prizes are not transferable.

7.If I win a prize, will I be responsible for taxes?

Yes, taxes related to the prize, along with any other expenses and costs not expressly listed in the Official Rules, are the responsibility of the individual winner.

2.Why are Federal and State healthcare beneficiaries excluded from receiving a prize for submission of a photograph?

Federal and state law prohibits us from providing any incentives to health care beneficiaries.
